Welcome to Lego NXT in Mr. Brantley's classroom.
The Lego NXT is a fantastic medium for early learning with programming. Students in this classroom will have a great opportunity to have experience with both the original Lego RCX robots and Robolab as the programming software. Then they will have experience with the NXT and it's software NXT-G. The students will learn about linear programming, logical programming using loops and switches, and many other programming techniques and practices. This will include the use of the three primary sensors: TOUCH, SONIC, and LIGHT.
Students will be expected to used notation and commenting tools to annotate their work while programming. This has two purposes...first to keep the students aware of what each part of their program is supposed to be accomplishing...and second as a way for any instructor to be able to assist in trouble-shooting.
